On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, we received a notice from the Ciril Kosmač Primary School in Piran, which informed us that the relevant services had ordered them to carry out an urgent renovation of the complete electrical installation during the summer. Since it is planned that the renovation will be carried out from the end of June to the middle of August 2024, they informed us that unfortunately they cannot host the International Summer Ballet Camp Dancs-Piran this summer and at the same time asked for our understanding.
Since the renovation of the electrical installation will also mean a safer implementation of Dancs-Pirana in the coming years, we accepted the school’s announcement with full understanding.
Immediately after receiving the notification, we started looking for a new location and, despite the fact that we are just before summer, we were successful.
All Dancs-Piran 2024 workshops will take place in the theatre Avditorij Portorož, on the indoor or outdoor stage. Accommodation and meals for the participants are provided in the Portorož Student Dorm, from which it is a 10-minute walk to the Avditorij Portorož and a local bus will also run. For those participants for whom you will request a daily escort in the Data Form, this will of course be taken care of.
Regardless of the fact that the location where the workshops will be held is more prestigious, we will certainly not increase the prices for participation in the workshops for you, who have already registered and paid for at least one installment. The price of an overnight stay and full board per day is about 15 euros higher, so now a night with full board costs 50.00 euros. We will ask you to pay the difference in the price of overnight stays and meals. We are kindly asking for your understanding, as unfortunately we cannot cover these costs in addition to the much higher costs of the Avditorij Portorož. You will receive an invoice for the difference, which you can then settle at any time until the start of Dancs-Pirana 2024 or by agreement even later.
We are aware that the change of location and the possible increase in the prices of overnight stays and meals may affect you as well, so we will understand if you ask to cancel your participation, although of course we do not want that in any way.
