The Dancs-Piran International Summer Ballet Camp is certainly special as it is different from the most summer ballet schools organised around the world.

Although in the Elementary Advanced Course of Classical Ballet the participants also conduct a ballet technique workshop, all other activities goes to preparations for the staging of two or three performances, which the participants will present in 2024 in the big studio of Dancs center and on the big stage of the outdoor theater – Amphitheater of the Auditorij Portorož.

The Advanced & Professional workshop of classical ballet offers two more workshops in addition to daily ballet training: the Classical ballet repertoire – Corps de Ballet and solo  and workshop: variations, pas de deux …. Preparations for the performances are taking place within both, of which two options are offered to be attended.

Two-week camp – three performances!

In 2024, the Participants of Dancs-Piran will perform in three public performances, first in the big studio of Dancs center and other two on the big stage of the Amphitheater Auditorij Portorož-Portorose.

After the end of the first week of the camp, on Saturday August 3, 2024, at 9 pm the First Dancs-Piran 2024 Ballet Evening will take place, featuring all participants in the first week of Dancs-Piran. In the second week of Dancs-Piran a full-length Ballet performance or Divertissman (August 9, 2024), and the Closing Ballet Gala evening Dancs-Piran (August 10, 2024) will take place.

Thus, the Dancs-Piran International Ballet Camp does not offer the same process of work as dancers have during the Theatre season or School year, since activities are focused on preparing public events – two ballet concerts and one full-length ballet performance. On that way Participants gets new knowledge and also new stage experiences.

Dance also in other full-length ballet performances staged by the Slovenian Ballet Artists Association in the summer and you will be exempt from paying the registration fee for participating in Dancs-Piran*!

The Association of Ballet Artists of Slovenia (DBUS) offers those interested who are willing to participate in the Advance & Professional Workshop of Classical Ballet as part of its activities for additional education of young ballet dancers to apply for possible participation in ballet performances which are staging during the Dancs-Piran International Summer Ballet Camp. If you are willing to participate you must fill up and send application form that can be find on the end of this page. If you are selected to participate then, you must be in Piran at least 10 days prior Dancs-Piran 2024 starts. If you dance in DBUS performances, you are then exempted from paying the registration fee, so you attend all the workshops, except the variation workshop, pas de deux…* for free, and you only cover the costs of accommodation and food. (*If you also want to attend the Variation Workshop, pas de deux… you have to pay the registration fee for it).

Dancs-Piran also offers many additional individual summer activities, from swimming in the sea, socializing with participants, visiting ballet performances, evening walks and sitting and on the streets of Piran, making new friendships and much more.
